From plant to molecule.
Every step of this transformation happens in our plant, in Ponta Grossa. Understand the process and you understand our line.
It all starts with a vegetable oil.
Soy, palm, canola, sunflower: Vegetallis raw materials come from renewable sources. And it is in our plant that they start to change.
Every drop is made of triglycerides.
Three fatty acid chains bound to one glycerol molecule. That is where the value lies, and freeing them is the first step of our process.
Split apart, they become fatty acids.
Freed from the glycerol and distilled, the chains gain their acid head. Splitting and distillation take place in our plant, in processes developed by Vegetallis.
Shape decides the state.
Straight chains stack up and harden: stearic acid. With a bend, they stay liquid: oleic acid. Our pressing separates one from the other, which is where the Double and Triple Pressure grades come from.
Hydrogen straightens the bend.
The double bond takes up hydrogen, the chain lines up with the others and the oil turns solid: hydrogenated oil, made in our reactor. And every batch leaves with a certificate of analysis from our laboratory.
